Organic Coffee
Consumers begin to look toward organic coffee as another way to protect their health.
OCIA International is one of the largest and oldest leaders in the organic certification industry. OCIA is dedicated to providing the highest quality organic certification services and also provides access to global organic markets.
The Organic Coffee label helps consumers feel comfortable that the coffee was grown without using any pesticides or other chemical products.
Organic farming protects the farmers from unsafe applications of fertilizers and pesticides while promoting a sustainable agriculture for generations to come.
Fair Trade
ORGANIC and FAIR TRADE certified coffees support farming and production practices, provide economic stability, and a higher living standards for the coffee farmers.
We are proud that our coffee meets the strict standards of TransFair USA, USDA Organic, and OCIA.
The Fair Trade Certified label assures consumers that the coffee was grown responsibly and that the farmers who grew the beans are paid fairly. Fair Trade coffee was purchased outside of the commodities market at a fair price that was better than farmers could get otherwise
Fair Trade Certified Coffee:
- Pays farmers a fair price for their products, so that they can take home more money to their family and help support a better way of life.
- Creates direct trade links between farmers and their cooperatives, bypassing middlemen who may exploit the farmers.
- Helps farmers stay out of debt and provides access to affordable credit.
- Creates a positive impact on communities and the farmers that live there by promoting social and business development programs.
Leading The Way!
A leader in the Organic - Fair Trade movement is Boresha Coffee, a California based company that donates a percentage of every sale to The Invisible Children, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide healthcare, safety, and education for the children of northern Uganda. Boresha Coffee is a major player with 100% of their coffee being Organic and Fair Trade.
Another major promoter of Organic - Fair Trade coffee is CRS who provides assistance to farmers of coffee overseas and supports them by promoting Fair Trade here in the US. According to CRS " Fair Trade is the only approach to coffee that guarantees farmers a fair price for their coffee and builds stable, long-term relationships based on mutual respect".

I can tell you.. Organic coffee is the way to go . It makes for a healthier cup of coffee AND it is better for the environment. Same goes for the whole fair trade thing. If Boresha Coffee is both organic and fair trade that is about the highest quality you can get in a coffee. Another great thing is if the coffee is shade grown.
